Regina Mahiri is currently the Coordinator of the Sawubona Black Student Success Center and Associate Faculty in Work Experience at Santa Rosa Junior College. At the core of her advocacy lies a deep-rooted belief in the transformative power of education. Regina is driven by the conviction that every individual should have equitable access to opportunities for success. With a business mind and heart for people, Regina brings over a decade of experience guiding and advising a diverse range of students on their academic journeys, collaborating with District stakeholders to refine and enhance processes, and has spearheaded numerous initiatives in student life, engagement, mentorship, retention, persistence, and program leadership.
Regina excels in developing co-curricular programs, creating and designing student-centered affirming and empowering spaces, and developing innovative trainings and facilitation sessions that tackle challenging conversations rooted in anti-ism ideologies. Her efforts not only address the immediate needs of marginalized students but also lay the groundwork for their sustained success. Regina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership Studies from CalPoly Humboldt.
